In China, mung beans are a very popular food, especially in the hot summer months. According to Chinese medicine, mung bean extract repairs skin and has antibacterial effects.
It’s claimed that mung beans are anti-aging, due to their copper component, but there is no research supporting this. The phytoestrogens in mung beans apparently contain skin anti-aging properties that stimulate the production of hyaluronic acid, collagen and elastin. Again, I’ve not found the research to support this claim.
