Sugar maple extracts are a feature moisturizing ingredient in B. Kamins (Canadian, of course) skincare lines and Asian brand May Coop.
Derived from the Sugar Maple tree, maple extract works as a natural alpha hydroxy acid that is often used in skin care products to minimize and repair cell damage caused by free radicals. However, it’s very important to note that it doesn’t work the same as true exfoliants like glycolic acid or lactic acid. You won’t notice an exfoliating effect from sugar maple.
Maple tree extract is used for its moisturizing properties instead.
