Taraktogenos kurzii seed oil is a pale yellow oil used as a solvent, skin conditioning emollient. The oil is unusual in that it’s not made up of straight chain fatty acids but acids with a cyclic group at the end of the chain.
The oil is pale yellow to brown in color. The oil contains a toxic substance, curcasin, which has a strong purging effect, a few drops of the oil being equivalent to a large spoonful of castor oil.
