⁴titanium dioxide	A broad-spectrum SPF sunscreen; sometimes used as a pigment & for its opacity
⁵potassium hydroxide	AKA Lye is used in a tiny amount in skincare as a pH adjuster. Most commonly used in cleansers as a base for liquid soaps and in higher concentrations is a significant skin sensitizer.
⁶portulaca oleracea	may have anti-inflammatory or analgesic; humectant moisturizing properties
⁷placenta	Growth factors from animal and human placentas appear to play a role in wound healing. Popular in asian beauty and skincare, this ingredient sometimes comes from plant sources. This doesn't make any sense as plants don't have placentas, but I digress.

⁹Microcrystalline Cellulose	absorbing, anti-caking, bulking aka makes a product bulkier, emulsion stabilizing, opacifying aka makes the formula less clear, solution stabilising, viscosity controlling
¹⁰lavender	Mainly used for aromatherapy than skincare; mild antimicrobial/anti-inflammatory effects make it useful as part of a preservative system in a product; fragrance components oxidize on skin & can cause irritation
¹¹Hydrolyzed Collagen	antistatic, emollient moisturizing, film forming, hair moisturizing, humectant moisturizing
¹²honey	humectant moisturizer; anti-inflammatory; may be an antioxidant; contains natural lactic acid; antimicrobial; straight up honey has wound-healing properties. Note: if you’re allergic to royal jelly, propolis, bee stings, etc., you may have an allergic reaction to honey.
¹³Glycerin	A humectant moisturizer; usually used as a base in (light) moisturizers
¹⁴fragrance	Fragrance in skin care is like spraying perfume on your face. Smells nice, but potentially irritating and damaging to your skin's acid mantle. Especially if these ingredients are high up on the ingredient list.
¹⁵disodium EDTA	preservative & product stabilizer; helps the topical penetration of active ingredients; chelating agent
¹⁶Cyclopentasiloxane	Silicone; makes stuff easily spreadable; used as a conditioner, delivery agent, lubricant & solvent. Helps deliver other, heavier, silicones also in a product (like dimethicone)
¹⁷collagen	humectant moisturizer; film-former; has never been shown to have a direct effect on producing or building collagen in skin
¹⁸caprylyl glycol	An alcohol, derived from a plant which is used as an emollient and coconut derived preservative.
¹⁹butylene glycol	solvent; penetration enhancer; humectant moisturizer; in cleansing creams it dissolves dirt, avoids the product from drying too quickly during the removal stage & helps formulas spread better
