Ingredient Analysis
1. cleansing/lathering OR emulsifying agents ( Cetyl Peg/Ppg-10/1 Dimethicone ) depending on the product, this ingredient cleanses; emulsifies; lathers; makes products foamy/creamy & spread better

5. green tea – polyphenols ( Camellia Sinensis ) proven antioxidant, anti-inflammatory; can prevent collagen breakdown & reduce UV damage to skin. It is generally accepted that 5% green tea extract or polyphenols in the 90% range is an effective concentration in skincare products to produce these effects.
6. epidermal growth factor ( Human Oligopeptide ) stimulates epidermal cell growth and proliferation; shown to speed the healing of wounds, burns and reduce scarring. There is also research showing that its effect is no different from that of a placebo and that it may not be effective at all. It can have anti-inflammatory properties when applied to skin, although it also can promote tumor growth (it's unclear whether the source means when taken internally or applied topically). EGF has also been shown to help healing of diabetic ulcers. All of the research that does exist on EGFs has primarily studied their short-term use for wound healing.
7. Ethyl Methoxycinnamate. Ethyl Methoxycinnamate is used in skincare and cosmetics as a/an UV absorber ingredient.
8. hydroxyethylcellulose ( Hec ) gelling & thickening agent
9. Sophora Angustifolia. has been proven to demonstrate properties such as antibacterial & skin-whitening effects; it is most often used in treatment of infections and allergic reactions, like dermatitis

12. Centella Asiatica. antibacterial, anti-psoriatic, and wound-healing properties
13. Titanium Dioxide. A broad-spectrum SPF sunscreen; sometimes used as a pigment & for its opacity
14. Propylene Glycol. solvent; humectant; gives a product "slip"; helps "carry" other ingredients into the skin; also enhances the efficacy of preservatives; controls viscosity
15. Butylene Glycol. solvent; penetration enhancer; humectant moisturizer; in cleansing creams it dissolves dirt, avoids the product from drying too quickly during the removal stage & helps formulas spread better
16. hyaluronic acid ( Sodium Hyaluronate ) A humectant moisturizer; proven to boost skin's moisture content, reduce inflammation, have cell-communicating abilitites & help prevent moisture loss
17. Coming soon! ( Mica ) Coming soon!
18. Mineral Oil. An oil with occlusive properties (baby oil), paraffin, by itself, is a waxy petroleum-based thickener
19. Eucalyptus. antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties but it's very irritating!
20. petrolatum ( Microcrystalline Wax ) An occlusive protective moisturizer; great when used to seal in a humectant moisturizer
21. Allantoin. considered an effective anti-irritant; an occlusive that temporarily helps protect from chapped skin or windburn damage; softens skin & exfoliates; also a preservative
22. Vitamin E ( Tocopheryl ) Antioxidant emollient & occlusive moisturizer with proven effects: protects the epidermis from early stages of ultraviolet light damage; increases the efficacy of active sunscreen ingredients; reduces the formation of free radicals upon skin exposure to UVA rays and other sources of skin stress; reduces transepidermal water loss from skin and strengthens the skin's barrier function; protects the skin barrier's oil (lipid) balance during the cleansing process; reduces the severity of sunburn; preservative (if at the end of the list)

Low concentrations have no effect, while high concentrations of about 5% or more can be as irritating as hydroquinone & may potentially result in unexpected hyperpigmentation
29. beeswax ( Bees Wax ) a thickening agent that has some emollient properties
30. Silica. Silica is used in skincare and cosmetics as a/an abrasive exfoliating, absorbing, anti-caking, bulking aka makes a product bulkier, opacifying aka makes the formula less clear, viscosity controlling ingredient.
